What to do if you Vacation in Roanoke, VA

What to do if you Vacation in Roanoke, VA

Near and far there is something for everyone!!!

Roanoke VA Visitors Center the ultimate location to find out what there is to do in and around Roanoke, Virginia the gateway to plenty of adventures.

Roanoke Rail Cam - Roanoke's railroad is very busy, you can here the cars linking up all night long. You do have to listen carefully but at 3 in the morning there isn't much noise.

If you want to see something interesting, make it a point to visit the Smith Mountain Lake Visitors Center
It has visual aids that show how the lake was made and there is still a part of the train and tracks on the side of the mountain that was used to build the dam.

Drive around the lake and stop at the Virginia State Park on SML

Oh yeah, what Dam? the dam that was built to create Smith Mountain Lake (The lake covers 20,600 acres and has over 500 miles of shoreline.)

Natural Bridge and Butterfly Garden and less than an hour away from Roanoke. I have been there along time ago. Very Impressive.
"Discover Virginia's immense Natural Bridge – a National Historic Landmark shaped by Mother Nature over hundreds of years from twenty stories of solid limestone rock; then descend 34 stories and explore the deepest caverns on the East Coast; and see colorful, exotic butt erfl ies flutter in the new Butterfl ies at the Bridge - Virginia's largest indoor butt er fly garden."
